Childhood

His father, who comes from Aceh was a sailor who married Che Mah Hussein in 1925 who is from Kubang Buaya, Butterworth his mother. Tan Sri Datuk P Ramlee was born in the house of his maternal grandmother in Pulau Pinang on March 22 on the festive day of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri of 1929. After 44 days he was taken to his parents' home in Kampung Jawa over there where he spent most of his childhood.  He also has a step-sibling named Sheikh Ali through the same mother he and his brother were close as they grew up. His father who was a sailor from Acheh, which then contributed to P Ramlee's reputation later on in life as an icon of Malay entertainment in Malaysia, Singapore and Sumatra, especially Acheh. Although there is not much information of the star during his childhood years we can see that P. Ramlee has a lot of stories as a child base on the talents he has.
